Writer Qin Silin is a pawnshop trade association president. At age 17, he left school to work in a pawnshop when his family faced financial hardship. Forty years in the trade, Qin vows to improve the image of pawnshop trade. Three of his previous books are stories of the things and the people that landed in his shop.
