摘要註
Individuals who are visually impaired and blind are a growing population. In fact, the blind and severely visually impaired (BSVI) account for 15 percent of our worldwide population, and 2-3 % of these individuals are children in the school systems around the United States (Bhardwaji, 2018; Ghayyor et al., 2018; Olwan, 2017). Therefore, academic inclusion is essential for this population, as its growth is undeniable. The problem to be addressed by this study is that lack research that establishes the effects of parental involvement of BSVI student's related to their children’s academic success. This is problematic in that often this population is associated with higher dropout rates, behaviors in the classroom and low academic success (Coduti et al. 2017; Ghayyor et al. 2018; Tiwari et al. 2015; Zorluel Oser, & Chabaroglu, 2018). The researcher used semistructured interviews, which were led by pre vetted and approved questions to provoke in-depth, and lively conversations with the participants. Examination of the data revealed 7 themes, which developed into 4 major themes and one minor theme. The major finding results included: 1) Parents of BSVI students believe that their involvement at home leads to their child’s academic success. 2) Parent of BSVI students believe that their child’s academic success in a mainstream/inclu
